Last Friday night we had the privilege of attending a Versiti organ donation volunteer event in downtown Milwaukee, along the shore of Lake Michigan. We were there to meet other volunteers and to see the lighting of the Hoan Memorial Bridge for National Donate Life Month. This was our first chance to really spend time with other volunteers, and we had a great time. We shared Hannah’s Story with lots of people and heard their stories too. One man had a double-lung transplant and feels blessed every single day he wakes up. Another was there with his “donor mom.” Her son lost his life in an accident, and this man received her son’s heart, now they volunteer together as organ donation family. One woman gave her kidney to her brother and now she lives as a living donor. Another donor family lost their son, at eighteen, in a tragic plane crash. It was a wonderful group of recipients, donors, and donor families! Although our lives can feel very isolated sometimes, like no one understands what we’ve been through, it was a sobering reminder of the reality that we are not alone in these difficult circumstances.

In other news, we are developing a new website https://hannahhelps.net/ . This will be our “business” site. It will share Hannah’s Story, what Hannah Helps is, and what it is that we are intending to do as a nonprofit. This site will not change often, like our blog site. The posts on the blog site will continue to be regularly updated, just like our Facebook pages. This new site is for those who want to know about the “work” that we do and the services that we provide. Thanks to our friend Lloyd, hannahhelps.net is up and running! We will continue to develop and grow this site as we grow as a nonprofit.
Thanks to all of you!!
We are blessed!
