Just a few things today. First of all, as many of you know, we are about to remember the one-year anniversary of everything that happened with Hannah. A year ago, this weekend, our family was heading up to Bearing Precious Seed to print Bibles with Hannah’s friend “Monty” as part of celebrating Hannah’s birthday. The following day, the 3rd, was her actual birthday. On that day we went to church and then she headed back to college after a very special mother-daughter moment and hug from Janean. That’s where the happiness ended. This coming Monday would have been her 20th birthday. We see college students weekly at church and at other events, and we remember those days when Hannah was a college student. At these times it’s hard to not think about “what used to be” and “what could have been.”
On Hannah’s birthday this year, we will be sharing Hannah’s Story on the VCY America Crosstalk radio program. VCY is a Christian radio station here in Wisconsin and it’s based out of Milwaukee, but it has grown to become much larger than that. In fact, “There are currently 66 owned & operated radio stations: 39 full-power stations across the Midwest and Southwest, plus 27 low power “translator” stations, in addition to 81 “affiliate” stations that carry VCY programs” according to their website. They also operate a 24/7 television station in Milwaukee too, with the same name on channel 30. VCY stands for the Voice of Christian Youth, and it was founded by Vic Eliason, who I was able to meet while in college. Now it’s run by Jim Schneider, who will be hosting our interview on Monday.
