My wife was reminded of a poem that her mom gave to her years ago when we went through a different trial. She felt lead to share it with everyone as it really speaks to the very thing that we hold on to now.
He Maketh No Mistake
by A. M. Overton
- My Father’s way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I’m glad I know,
He maketh no mistake.
- My cherished plans may go astray,
My hopes may fade away,
But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead
For He doth know the way.
- Though night be dark, and it may seem
That day will never break;
I’ll pin my faith, my all in Him,
He maketh no mistake.
- There’s so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight’s far too dim;
But come what may, I’ll simply trust
And leave it all to Him.
- For by and by the mist will lift
And plain it all He’ll make,
Through all the way, though dark to me,
He made not one mistake.
At this time, God is with us and He will never leave us. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
Later that day we were given an update on Hannah: The MRI showed damage all around the brain. The only parts that seem to not be touched were the front lobes and front side lobes. Those parts of the brain control her decision making, emotion, and hearing. They also tried to take out her chest tube, but the lung deflated again. We will get a better explanation, prognoses, and plan of action in several hours when the main neurology team meets with us. It was not the good report we hoped for, and we do not know the extent of damage or what it all means at this point.
The praises are that she was able to get off her blood pressure medicine, and her fever came down.
Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
We are blessed.
